Marketing Strategy: Try Vlogging

video blogging Companies that blog have 55% more website visitors and generate 88% more leads (B2C) per month than those who don’t (Hubspot).

Vlogging, a form of blogging for which the medium is video is becoming an increasingly popular marketing strategy for businesses.Videos are more accessible and easier to create than ever. Using short videos for your blog might be less time consuming than writing articles. If you’re comfortable enough in front of the camera, this might be a time saving solution and a great marketing strategy for your business.

People’s attention spans aren’t much greater than 1-3 minutes, so keep it short, simple and to the point. Remember just be yourself, speak from the heart and people will relate to that.

There are 35 hours of video content uploaded to YouTube every minute, so the competition is intense. You can’t expect to upload a video and get instant traffic. Like anything you publish online, you need to have a promotion and distribution plan. Search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) often give priory listings to websites that host video content so you should make sure that you optimize your videos and use tags and keywords.

Here’s an example of a short video done with my iPhone, see how easy it can be to create content for your blog and incorporate video in your marketing strategy.

Your turn! Do you feel video blogging is an effective marketing strategy?

Great article! I can see this becoming the new way of social media networking, especially in the real estate industry! It seems like everyone is on YouTube and on video these days. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Tina! Anyone can get creative and use videos on their blog or website-if they’re comfortable enough in front of the camera. It’s really a great way to get more personal with your audience.
