Year 2011 has been named the year for mobile commerce and marketing. If you are planning on jumping on the mobile bandwagon, take the time and answer these questions before you invest:
1. Do I know enough about the technology, tools and trends in mobile marketing?
Use resources available from the Mobile Marketing Association to educate yourself before you begin.
2. What is my business goal?
Define what you are trying to achieve: awareness, lead capture, sales, etc.
3. What percentage of my target market has a smart phone?
Know the digital habits of your target market. One simple way to do this is by checking what devices people use to access your website/blog. This information is included in your Google Analytics, under the “Visitors” category.
4. Do I have a strategy to measure success?
Decide ahead of time on your metrics.
Set yourself up for mobile marketing success, and start with questions. Is mobile marketing part of your marketing plan for this year?
