Unite & Conquer: Entrepreneurs Connect to Thrive on Facebook

If you’re an Entrepreneur or have a small business, you understand the importance of networking to grow your business. There are many avenues to network for your business but my favourite is using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. I have met many people with different skills and expertise and it gave me the idea that we should have a place where we can exchange ideas, network and refer business to each other. If we unit and work as a community and not compete with each other, we’ll be much more successful.

So, this led me to start a Facebook community page which was just launched January 19^th, 2010 called Entrepreneurs Connect to Thrive. The principal is pretty simple, you share some of your expertise and knowledge with this community to create visibility for yourself and let people know what you do. You answer questions, you contribute value to the community and in return, people refer you business. They key is to contribute and be visible to the community on a consistent basis to remind people that you exist. It’s not about blasting ads about your services or products but to bring value to others.

In order for this community to be successful, everyone will need to pitch in, invite their network of friends and help it grow. Also, don’t forget that Facebook Pages are indexed by Google and are often at the top of search engines which means that the more useful information you put out there, the more chances that your clients and prospects will find you.
